West's midweek Manchester Premier Cup exit to Hyde United was a first loss in any competition since the end of September, but Chris Rowley's side return to league duties seven points clear of second-placed Abbey Hey and are yet to taste defeat in the league this season.
Though a run of five straight defeats across September and October left Brocton dangerously close to the relegation trapdoor, they have shown signs of improvement - last Saturday's defeat to Abbey Hulton United was only their second in the five games following that pointless spell. The Badgers go into this weekend's fixtures in 17th place, with 20 points from their opening 20 games.
The Badgers' visit to Brookburn Road on 4th September was the sides' first-ever meeting. West ran out 5-1 winners, with a Ben Elliott hat-trick interspersed with Dontai Gabidon and Liam Delaney goals.
