With Choltonite butts squeaking from all directions, fixture congestion is reaching Barton bridge levels..
Midweek mayhem-Tue 2nd April.
U13 Magpies v Urmston meds Barca
Hardy Farm
Following some clandestine manoeuvres in the murky world of mid season transfers, our home league fixture against Urmston Meds Barca looks like a dress rehearsal for an unexpected semi final against the same oppo in a few weeks time.
Hungry for revenge after an outstanding 0-7 whooping in Urmston in our performance of the season, we kicked off an hour before sunset wondering who could do it on a cold, damp Tuesday night in Chorlton.
An early period of Meds domination followed in which we also lost our midfield Duracell Bunny to a faulty hamstring. Meds deservedly took the lead soon after and looked in ominous form. Fortunately, we managed to weather the early storm though and held on.
A scrappy penalty box ping pong match was seized upon by Josh who poked home for an equaliser.
A vicious left foot shot then delivered some painful Meds and got them back ahead and into the half-time break at 1-2.
1-3 early in the second half looked to be a killer blow but a Ioanniesta through ball put in The Hitman to slot past the on rushing keeper. 2-3. Clinging on.
A freakish return chip straight from a goal kick gave them some breathing space at 2-4, and having to chase the game with the clock and daylight fading, a couple more lobs for the luckless Fin meant that it was more than just the sun going down on the evening.
Final score 2-6. A bit flattering really, but a reasonable performance against higher placed opposition.
Goals:Josh Fookes (kudos for Sub, Vomit and return) and Jack Haworth.

League
Timperley Villa (h)
Lost 2-5
Scorer: Teddy (2)

Went 1-0 up with a great free kick routine. On the stroke of half time they equalised with an own goal.
Second half they went 1-3 up, with a penalty and offside goal. The Badgers got back to 2-3 with a bullet header from teddy. We then gambled and went for it and conceded two breakaway goals 2-5.
The close losses in 7 days has deflated the camp. A good time for the easter break and some chocolate..
