Speaking after the game Hodges spoke to wdcfc.co.uk about taking her place in the club history books; “I’m delighted. It was a real team effort today and we battled well across the pitch. It was a well-deserved result for us.”
Asked what winning the first game meant Hodges responded; “It’s good that we’ve set a good standard for the team and its one we need to maintain in the coming weeks as we build up to the season.”
Hodges was positive about her experience so far; “I think we’re all working really hard and competing for places. The confidence across the team has been really good so far and we’re all pushing each other. The competition in the squad helps us stay motivated; everyone wants to start the games and give their best.”
Asked what individual targets the West winger had set; “I want to get more involved in the attacking play, score more goals and create for others.”
West Women’s side are back in action this Sunday when they take on Wythenshawe Amateurs at Brookburn Road, Sunday, 2pm KO with FREE admission.
