Good afternoon and welcome back to The Step Places Stadium to all the West fans. I’d also like to welcome Sandbach United; we hope everyone connected with our visitors receives a warm welcome for this Playermatch.com quarter final game. Results have gone well for us of late. I was delighted with the performances and the nine goals we put past the opposition in our two previous outings in the league. We played well, created plenty of opportunities - every time we pushed forward, we looked dangerous.

Arriving in the last week of December certainly brought its challenges. As the New Year began, we were in a position to establish a formation that would get us organised, ensuring players were clear on their roles and willing to help each other when the shape was lost. The dedication and level of performances delivered by the players throughout January has been excellent. From our previous seven matches (five of which were away), the team have scored seventeen and conceded six. These stats typify the hard work and dedication applied by the players both on the pitch and during training.

Coming back from two goals behind at Wythenshawe Town to claim a well-deserved point and ten men standing firm to weather a late storm against Cammell Laird are both significant moments that demonstrate the character of this team.

No win or point is any more significant than the other but I have to say, the last two matches have been a great way to say thank you and deliver something memorable for the phenomenal support this club provides. Let’s get behind the boys and hope we can observe more goals, a clean sheet and a place in the semi-final come 5pm tonight. Come on West!
