The Greater Manchester Women's Football League have confirmed the remaining fixtures for the 2018/19 season with the Women's Development Squad facing four of their remaining five games at home.
The Development Squad currently sit second in Division Two one point behind leaders Tameside United with four league matches remaining, including a game in hand. 'The Devs' most recent outing saw them earn a home berth against Tameside United in the semi-finals of the GMWFL Division Two Cup following a 5-1 win away to Boltonian Ladies knowing a win on January 13th will see them contest for the final at Brookburn Road on Sunday 12th May. Heyside will play the winners of Swinton or AFC Oldham in the other semi-final.
In addition, the league committee have confirmed the dates for the remaining league games as they will resume league action on Sunday 20th January when they host Heyside Angels at Brookburn Road, 2pm KO, in a promotion six pointer. West will be keen to avenge a 4-3 defeat suffered at the hands of Heyside back in October.
They will also face Swinton on Sunday 3rd February at Brookburn Road before rounding off their home fixtures with the welcome of Boltonians. West enjoyed previous meetings against the two sides having beaten Swinton 6-2 away in November and Boltonians in 6-3 in October. The side will then round off their league season with a trip to AFC Oldham on Sunday 17th February.
A third set of league fixtures is expected to be added, weather depending, but Nathan Soulby's side will be confident of collecting a league and divisional cup double come the end of the season.
