by Rob McKay · 12/09/2017
Two home fixtures have been added to the September schedule for West as they look to battle on multiple fronts for silverware.
Following West’s 6-1 win over AFC Blackpool on Saturday West will now host Stockport Town on Saturday 23rd September, 3pm KO. The second qualifying round tie will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides who met in pre-season with West running out narrow 3-1 winners.
Stockport Town had an equally impressive win in the previous round as they defeated Northwich Victoria away from home 4-3.
The First Round draw for the Lancashire Trophy has been made and it will see West host a rare home fixture in the competition when they welcome Nelson to Brookburn Road on Tuesday 26th September, 7:45pm KO.
Last season West bowed out at the quarter final stage losing to Radcliffe Borough on penalties having beaten Padiham at home, at the third time of asking, in a 5-3 thriller.
In addition, West’s re-scheduled game against Barnoldswick Town will now take place on Wednesday 18th October, 7:45pm KO. The tie was originally scheduled for September 2nd but was postponed due to Barlick’s FA Cup progress.
Admission for all these games will be £5 for adults, £3 concessions and FREE for under-12s accompanied by an adult.
