West put NWCFL aspirations to one side this weekend, as Stockport Town visit M21 in the Isuzu FA Vase First Round.
Coming into this game in superb form, West have lost in 90 minutes only three times this season and not since the FA Cup exit at the hands of Darlington ten games ago. The 3-0 win over Lower Breck in midweek saw West pass the most serious test of their ambitions so far, with recent signing Jack Banister firing a late brace.
With Victor Abadaki and Jordan Lazenbury both in double figures for the season, Billy Matthews already matching his goal tally for the entire 23/24 season and a number of others chipping in, West's goal threat carries right through the team.
This is West's sixth home cup tie of the season - a pair of penalty shootout defeats in the Macron Cup and Lancs Trophy preceded by the club record FA Cup run.
West are joining this season's FA Vase today, having been awarded later entry by virtue of reaching the Third Round last season, which ended in a 4-0 defeat at Emley. Stockport Town are looking to reach the FA Vase Second Round for the first time in their history, having despatched Barton Town and FC St Helens to reach today's tie.
Town started the season strongly and have maintained a comfortbale midtable position in the NWCFL Premier Division so far, following their promotion from the Division One South last term.
Prolific striker Aaron Dwyer recently rejoined the Lions on a dual registration from Ossett United, but it appears Dwyer may be unavailable for Town's weekend matches on this arrangement. He did however fire a hat-trick against our Chorlton neighbours Maine Road, in a 5-4 Macron Cup win three weeks ago and will be the main threat if he is indeed available.
The FA Vase doesn't feature extra time or replays - if the scores are level after 90 minutes, the tie will be settled by a penalty shootout, with £825 FA prize money going to the victors and £250 to the losing side.

Past Meetings
West hold a 100% record against Stockport Town at Brookburn Road, winning on all four occasions the Lions have visited. Only FC Isle of Man have visited as often without taking anything away.
This isn't the clubs' first FA Vase meeting - a real ding dong in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the 2017/18 edition saw West win 4-3 thanks to Matty Kay's last minute winner, after Town had equalised three times.
Nor is it the first meeting this season - Gabe Cole's spectacular effort from his own half was cancelled out by Jeffry Edos Oni's second half strike as the spoils were shared on Matchday 2.

Directions
We encourage supporters to use public transport, cycle or walk if possible.
By car:
There is no parking available at the ground for supporters, except for pre-booked disability access.
Please instead use Hardy Farm, M21 8DP.
Disability spaces must be accessed no later than one hour before kickoff and all vehicles will be unable to exit until 15 minutes after the final whistle to ensure the safety of all supporters leaving the stadium.
There is additional public car parking on Chorlton Ees opposite The Bowling Green pub, who are also allowing supporters to use the pub car park, but there is little other on-street parking.
Please also note that there is no parking available on Brookburn Road itself, nor the surrounding Chorltonville area, as they are privately maintained, exclusively for the use of residents.
By public transport:
The Step Places Stadium is one mile from Chorlton Metrolink station, on the East Didsbury and Manchester Airport lines. Follow Google Maps directions to find your way to the ground.
If you are travelling from outside the Greater Manchester area, the Metrolink network can be accessed from any of Manchester’s central train stations. Visit the Transport for Greater Manchester website for tram times and more information.
By cycle:
The Step Places Stadium is a perfect location for those who cycle, being located next to the River Mersey, Sale Ees and only a few minutes away from the Fallowfield Cycle Loop.
