We are saddened by discriminatory chanting aimed by some West fans towards a Maine Road player at last night's game.
Everyone at the club is fiercely proud of our “West for all” ethos, and this is more important than ever as we enjoy increased attendances at home and away matches. The chanting at last night's game was completely removed from this ethos and will not be tolerated at any West match, and any individuals found to be using discriminatory language will be banned from the club.
We apologise to our friends and neighbours at Maine Road. Also, we'd like to thank the West supporters who challenged and reported this behaviour, and we encourage everyone to remain vigilant in order to protect what makes West the club we all love.
