Chris Rowley introduces new signings

As we revealed in Wednesday's re-signed players announcement, Chris Rowley has been busy adding fresh faces to his squad ahead of the 2021/22 season. Here the West boss talks us through some of the new additions.

The new recruits will go into Chris' thinking ahead of Saturday's season opener at Alsager Town.

Jack Bailey

“Jack has come from our connection with Rochdale and featured for our Reserves in the Cheshire League last season. Jack has already come on leaps and bounds since joining us in pre-season. He has settled into the squad really well and will be pushing AJ for the number one shirt.”

Scott Bladen

“Scott is the second lad who's come through from the Reserves set-up and again fitted into the squad really well. He is a midfielder who keeps the ball moving and as well as trying to force his way into the West matchday squad, he will be using a link we have developed with Knutsford in the Cheshire League to get extra game time.”

Matt Cook and Callum Jones

“Really excited to have these two back. Both are lads I know really well from my time with Altrincham and both are fan favourites here at West. I always knew that I’d be able to get them back to the club and I'm delighted that we have.”

Ezeikel Eme

“A young winger that was with Morecambe as a scholar but was released due to injury. This isn’t my first dealing with Ezeikel, as I was his high school PE teacher. He has impressed in training with his pace and ability on the ball - I can’t wait for the West fans to see him play.”

Alex Jackson

“A striker with great potential. He's had a bit of time out of the game, but he knew a few of the lads already and they sold the club to him. He has come in and hit the ground running and started to get back the love of the game - that just shows the spirit we have in the camp. He will be a great addition to the attacking options at the club.”

Rudy Robertson

“An exciting ball-playing midfielder who has come into the club and wants the ball all the time. He is a young lad that wants to push everyone for their spot in the starting eleven.”
