The club can confirm that Andrew Jones is leaving West. The impact that AJ has had on the club and West supporters over the years has been huge. After joining in 2019, AJ has gone on to make 167 appearances for the club - the 2nd highest in our NWCFL history.

He was a key player in our title-winning season and was awarded NWCFL Goalkeeper of the Year in recognition of his performances. The following season AJ was a massive reason why we reached the Quarter-Finals of the FA Vase with his penalty heroics at Bacup, Whitley Bay and Coventry Sphinx.

Above all that, AJ has bought into the West Didsbury & Chorlton community from day one. His connection with the supporters, juniors and his teammates will be missed.

He says, “The time has come after five amazing years at West for me to move on. Having originally been brought in by Brad it was the fantastic group of lads that Chris and the rest of the management team brought in that we achieved so many fantastic things in my time here. My last season was not what I would have wanted due to injury, but that will not tarnish the memories that will live with me forever. Winning the league the way we did, the final of the county cup and also the FA Vase run are obviously some of the stand-out moments.

I’d like to thank all the players I played with during my time, some of whom I now call close friends. To Chris & the management team who backed me to be the number one throughout my time at West. But most of all I’d like to thank the West fans who on a weekly basis would sing my name, follow us around the country and support us. You the fans are what I will miss most about West- but i’m sure we will cross paths again. Until then take care.”

Thank you AJ
