West were held to a first goalless draw since November 2023 on a frustrating afternoon at Brookburn Road.
Ollie Martin began his suspension, so Joe Lawlor started in goal having joined on a dual-registration from Wythenshawe Town. Adam Jones, Jack Banister and Lewis Billingsley were restored to the starting XI. Harvey Roberts and Billy Matthews move to the bench while Reuben Dass misses out.
Looking for a sixth successive league win, West dominated but a combination of profligacy, Abbey Hey's debutant goalkeeper Andre Mendes and the offside flag ensured the spoils were shared.
West looked to have a golden opportunity on the hour, the referee awarding a penalty after Victor Abadaki was tripped in the box. However, the offside flag was up and the decision was chalked off.
Abbey Hey threatened on the counter and West keeper Joe Lawlor was kept busy. West ran out of time and exhausted all ideas, and Abbey Hey held on to extend their unbesten run to 7 games.
