West maintained their unbeaten away record with a comfortable win at Abbey Hey.
The first half was more back-and-forth than end-to-end, although neither keeper was excluded from the action. Ollie Martin made a couple of smart saves while Abbey Hey's Joe Lawton was the busier of the two, most notably when tipping over a dangerous Connor Hughes free kick.
West's toughtest opponent in the first half was the offside flag, which punctuated a number of promising attacks and saw Lee Grimshaw have a goal chalked off after Lawton could only parry Billy Matthews' low shot into his path.
The game sparked into life after the restart and it didn't take long for West to hit the front. Connor Hughes neatly overlapped Jack McConnell down the left to provide for Jordan Lazenbury to score for the third game running and into double figures for the season.
A double setback around the hour mark threatened to dampen West's evening - firstly Adam Jones coming off through injury and Abbey Hey's equaliser coming a couple of minutes later - but it also saw the introduction of Victor Abadaki, which proved to be the difference.
Billy Matthews put West back in front on 78 minutes with brilliant composure, sidestepping the last Abbey Hey defender and passing the ball into the net after Abadaki's cross.
Roles were reversed two minutes later as Lazenbury flicked the ball inside to Matthews, whose cross hung in the air for Abadaki - only called up to the matchday squad on the afternoon of the game - to spring and twist into a spectacular overhead kick that gave Lawton no chance.
Another 3 points sealed and it's also now eight wins in a row against Abbey Hey, as West's superb run of form rolls on,
