Three new additions at West

Chris Rowley has strengthened his squad ahead of the forthcoming campaign by making his first three new acquisitions of the summer.

Ben Hampson and Sam Dickinson both arrive from Prestwich Heys, while former Abbey Hey defender Callum Graham has also signed on in M21.

Centre-back Hampson made 26 appearances for Heys last season, and also counts Ossett United, Ramsbottom United and Droylsden among his former clubs – as well as a spell with North Geelong Warriors in Australia.

Sam Dickinson

Dickinson, an attacking midfielder who also brings extensive experience of the NWCFL Premier Division, formerly captained Nelson as well as turning out for Squires Gate and Clitheroe.

Callum Graham

Callum Graham

Graham can play on the right or in the middle of defence and played alongside many of the current West side in Altrincham’s youth team, before appearing for Irlam and Abbey Hey.

West boss Rowley said: “Ben is an experienced centre-back. When the offer to come to West came in, the fact that a couple of his close friends were already at the club made it easy for him to make the move.

“Sam is a central midfielder who is comfortable on the ball, and will bring experience and composure to our midfield area. I believe he will be a great addition not only to the squad not only on the pitch, but in the dressing room as well.

“Some may recognise Callum from pre-season friendlies a couple of years ago. He is also comfortable on the ball and will add strength to our defence.”

We wish Ben, Sam and Callum a warm welcome to West!
