How we stand

This is a Manchester derby with ramifications beyond local bragging rights, with both sides firmly in the promotion chase as the season approaches the halfway mark. West’s win at Rocester last weekend ensured we go into this one top of the table, one point ahead of New Mills and two ahead of Abbey Hey.

Wythenshawe Amateurs suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at home to Abbey in the week, but ten wins from their first 16 games have seen them in the higher reaches of the table since the opening day. They currently sit 4th with 32 points – aided by the exploits of former West man Saul Henderson, who has scored 19 goals in all competitions.
