October Player of the Month | Callum Jones

In a fractured month notable mainly for the number of cup games, consistency won out in our Player of the Month vote with Callum Jones edging a close poll. Playing four out of the six games, Callum has grown into the season, making the central midfield berth his own with a series of strong performances. His range of passing is complemented by tough-tackling – something emphasised by his newly shaved head – and he has helped anchor the side through some testing fixtures. Sadly, his stunning strike in the month’s final game at Oswestry Town was all for nothing as a late home winner stole a well-earned point from West, but the effort exemplified the month that ‘CJ’ had. The memory of that shot – a low drive through a maze of bodies in the area, staying hit and leaving the keeper flat-footed – will long linger for those in attendance.

Congratulations, Callum – and here’s to another month of fine performances.
