RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE
by West Didsbury & Chorlton · 21/10/2019
Tickets are now off-sale for the Community Bonfire Night, with the event now completely sold out. As previously mentioned, there will be no tickets sold on the night, and the event will be ticket only. We can also confirm there will be no further tickets made available. If you do not have a ticket, please do not attend as we will be unable to permit entry – this is due to spectator health and safety, and a strict capacity is vital to ensuring the safe and smooth running of the event. We also advise against purchase from a third party, especially on Facebook: there has, of late, been a proliferation of scammers on event posts across the website, meaning we’ll be turning off comments for on our events page.
However, we are still looking for volunteers for the bonfire – with roles available before, during, and after the event itself. All volunteers will get free entry, and we’ll make sure that you’re well looked after over the course of the evening. We have plenty of positions available: please fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. We’re also looking for bonfire wood – if you’ve any you’re able to donate, use the form below and we’ll respond as soon as possible.
If you are no longer able to attend, and would like your ticket to be reallocated, you can request a refund on Eventbrite (find out more here). These will be processed daily at around 8pm, and put back up for sale. Refunds will be less the Eventbrite processing fee, which we are sadly unable to process – this is one of the platform’s policies, and out of our control. We will also be unable to hold back returned tickets, or reserve them in any way: they’ll be sold on a first come, first served basis.
On the day itself, each ticket will be individually scanned – please have your QR code ready on arrival. Printing out will not be necessary, as long as the QR code is legible from your phone. To be clear, once the ticket has been scanned, it will be void and not valid for further use: if you are attending as part of a family ticket, you will be required to turn up at the same time as there is not the capacity to reserve spaces on tickets. Once you have left the grounds, we’ll be unable to allow re-admittance: this, again, is a matter of keeping the crowd at a safe number and to ease burden upon our volunteers.
We will also be unable to respond to individual requests about tickets, or the event: we’ll be putting out everything that you will need to know, including food and drink options and other amenities, in the week leading up to the event. West Didsbury & Chorlton is a volunteer run club, meaning that for a large event such as this it is impossible to reply to each enquiry individually – though we’ll be sure to address each concern in an FAQ before the event.
