RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE
by Gray Ellwood · 19/12/2022
Tomorrow evening we welcome Ashton Athletic to The Step Places Stadium. After three postponed matches, we’re desperate to get playing again and we’d love your support:
 Tuesday 20th December, 7:45pm
 NWCFL Premier League
The Step Places Stadium, Brookburn Road (M21 8FE)
 £6 adults/£4 concessions/£4 12-16 year olds/£1 Under 12s
No parking at the ground – use Hardy Farm, M21 8DP
To help everyone make it into the ground before kick off, we advise to arrive at least 15 minutes early and to bring correct change.
Before the sub-zero temperatures arrived, December had started off very brightly for the club with two cup wins in four days. After progressing to the Fourth Round of the FA Vase at Whitley Bay and following that up with progression to the Third Round of the Lancashire Challenge with a victory over AFC Blackpool, the freezing temperatures came at a frustrating time, however, we’re hoping that confidence is still high amonst the players. The extra time off has been of benefit to some of the squad – Connor Hancock and Rhain Davis were absent from the AFC Blackpool match after taking heavy knocks at Whitley Bay and will be pushing to regain their starting places.
Ashton Athletic have also been without football for the past three weeks and will be itching to play again. They currently sit bottom of the NWCFL Premier League and are fighting desperately for points. With seventeen defeats already in this league campaign, it’s clear that it’s been far from an easy season for The Yellows. Despite this, West fans will have the away match at Brocstedes Park on the first weekend of the season in the back of their minds. On that day, it was a hard fought draw between the two sides and the team will know that a good performance will be needed to pick up the three points.
We look forward to seeing you.
Come on West!
