West Didsbury & Chorlton’s Lancashire Challenge Trophy tie this evening was postponed following the discovery that their floodlight certificate had expired.

Despite the floodlights being in fully working order and the agreement of both clubs for the tie to go ahead; the tie was called off by the match officials following advice from the Lancashire County FA.

Upon discovery of the expiration of the certificate the club had arranged for a lux reading to be arranged on Thursday so the renewal of a certificate could be issued. However, in the absence of a valid certificate it may have potentially invalidated the club’s insurance.

West Didsbury & Chorlton would like to offer their most sincere apologies to the players, officials and supporters for the inconvenience caused.

The club has forfeited the tie and withdrawn from the competition.

Saturday’s game against AFC Darwen will go ahead without issue as the floodlights are not required for the game.
