Match Report | Cheadle Town Stingers 5-1 West Women

West’s winning run came to an abrupt end in Cheadle.

We lost Katy Wilman to injury in the first 15 minutes and with only a couple of subs available this week, it was an early blow.

West competed well without creating any clear chances, but the home side eventually found the net after 30 minutes. West responded well but were soon further behind with goals for Stingers on 34 and 41 minutes.

H-T: 3-0

West looked more solid in the second half but were restricted to mainly shots from distance. Bianca made an excellent goal line clearance to deny Stingers a fourth before the hour mark, but that goal did eventually come on 71 minutes.

Taylor Gunn kept plugging away and having hit the side netting on 77 minutes, did eventually get her goal on 87 minutes.

As the 90 minutes was up Stingers found the net again, ending a disappointing afternoon for West.
