Look back: How we’ve fared in past NWCFL opening day fixtures

As West enter our sixth season in the NWCFL Premier Division, let’s have a look back at how we’ve fared in past opening fixtures. The results have been mixed, to say the least, with last season’s 3-1 victory against eventual runners-up Widnes being perhaps the stand-out performance. Of our former opening day adversaries, only Barnoldswick Town are still in the division, with each of our past 3 opponents now sitting in the league above, and AFC Liverpool – our first ever NWCFL Premier Division fixture – unfortunately being relegated last season.

Northwich Victoria are our guests for tomorrow’s game – you can read our match preview here.

“West’s inaugural NWCFL Premier Division campaign began with a 3-1 defeat to AFC Liverpool in front of a large crowd at Brookburn Road.
