How we stand

West go into this county cup tie still top of the First Division South, following Saturday’s comfortable win at St Martins. Chris Rowley’s side have now reached the mid-point of the season unbeaten in league competition, with the victory against the Saints the 16th from 19 games.

Following upward movement from the First Division North in the summer, Heys have eased into NWCFL Premier Division life and currently sit 14th with eight wins and one draw from their opening 20 matches. Matt Barnes’ side contains a couple of familiar faces – West legend Anthony Potts has made 11 appearances for Heys so far this season, with forward Lee Grimshaw also returning to Adie Moran Park since leaving Brookburn Road in 2020.

The sides last met at this stage in the same competition just over two years ago – Heys knocked West out on penalties on their way to a final defeat against Lancaster City.
