West Appoint Women’s Development Team Manager

West Didsbury & Chorlton are delighted to confirm the appointment of Nathan Soulby as the clubs first women’s team development squad manager for the 2018/19 season.

Chairman Glyn Meacher spoke of the appointment; “We’re really delighted at the appointment of Nathan. As a coach at Manchester City and someone whose also UEFA B license coach its a massive coup to have someone of his calibre involved.”

He will be joined in the dugout by John Carroll who brings a wealth of experience including from  being a member of the Manchester FA Women and Girls football working group.

Following a successful first foray into women’s football last season, which saw West finish runners-up in the NWWRFL Division One South as well reaching the first round proper of the SSE Women’s FA Cup, the club has been able to extend its offering of women’s football to include a development squad.

West Development will play its first season in the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League having been accepted into the league at its most recent AGM. The team enjoyed its first run out on Sunday as they were defeated at home to Wythenshawe Amateurs losing 4-1 with Olivia Riley scoring for West.
