November was a month to forget for West and its supporters as they took to the field just four times as six games fell victim to postponements.

On a night that will remain famous in Manchester football for a long time as Manchester City defeated Barcelona 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium, West travelled into deepest Lancashire where they took on a side famous for being Real Madrid in the 1950s, Nelson.  On a freezing cold night in which kick off was delayed and the players had barely moments to warm up the two sides played out a 4-4 winner in which the lead changed hands four times.  Jonny Poizer put West 1-0 after three minutes with a superb goal before Nelson levelled on 12 minutes and then took the lead shortly after. Ash Woods made it 2-2 with a clinical finish in front of goal before Anthony Potts gave West a 3-2 half time lead. The second half saw Nelson level and take the lead with barely moments to spare but Ash Woods added his second to salvage a draw for West.

Bonfire night saw fireworks at West but not before there were fireworks on the pitch as well as they lead an injury hit Ashton Athletic side 2-1 with 7 minutes remaining thanks to goals from Carlos Mendes Gomes and Ash Woods.  However Ashton rallied and scored four times in the remaining minutes to secure a stunning 5-2 and pore water on the bonfire festivities before the fire had even been lit.

West’s final game of the month saw them defeat Padiham 5-3 in the Lancashire Trophy in a match that was played at the third time of asking due to a car crash and poor weather.  In what would prove to be Ash Wood’s final game for West before moving to Trafford he left in style as he scored a 12 minute hat-trick. However it would still need goals from Saul Henderson and Joe Shaw to secure their place in the quarter finals thanks to late Padiham rallies.
