Sergeant and Coombes named in initial Gibraltar Nations League squad
With another international break on the horizon, Jack Sergeant and Jamie Coombes may once again be turning out for their country in the UEFA Nations League over the coming weeks. Both have been included in Julio Ribas’ 27 man squad for the games against Armenia (Friday 16 November) and away at Macedonia (Monday 19). Gibraltar have won both of their past two fixtures, and these two fixtures will see them conclude the campaign: two wins, and they could conceivably top their group, which would see them move into playoffs to qualify for Euro 2020. Macedonia currently sit atop the group on 9 points – 3 ahead of Gibraltar, and with a better goal difference.
Since their performances for Gibraltar, Jack Sergeant has been unable to pull on a Wets shirt due to a knock, whereas Jamie Coombes has recovered from an injury picked up against Liechtenstein to make two West appearances.
