PREVIEW | West Women travel to Stockport County Blues

West Women return to action tonight as they head to the Stockport Sports Village where they will face Stockport County Blues, 7pm KO.

On Sunday West made it six wins in a row on Sunday as they came from three goals down to beat Curzon Ashton in a 5-4 thriller thanks to goals from Hanifa Douglas (3), Emily Croasdale and Lyndsey Turner. The win further cemented their place in second spot in the NWWRFL Division One South with six games still left to play.

They face a Stockport County Blues side they’ve still yet to meet in the league this season but enjoyed a narrow Argyle Sports Cup 2-1 victory back against the Blues in October thanks to a Leigh McFadyen brace.

West face a Stockport side currently sitting in seventh place with 16 points from their 13 league games so far having enjoyed five wins this season. They will be looking to arrest their recent form which has seen them winless in the last four league games; the most recent of which was a 2-1 defeat away to Northwich Vixens on Sunday.

Kick-off is 7pm, the game will be taking place on the SSV main 3G pitch with admission FREE.
