RECREATION GROUND | BROOKBURN ROAD | CHORLTON | M21 8FE

West Didsbury & Chorlton will host trials for their new women’s team ahead of their inaugural 2017/18 season.
West are holding trials on Sunday 18th June and Sunday 25th June at 10am for any players wishing to join the club. Trials will run for approximately two hours and will take place at Chorlton High School.
New Manager Paul Caddick, who was appointed back in February, is looking to strengthen his squad in the summer as he looks to build on his sides 8th place finish this season as Chorltonian Ladies.
Caddick said; “We’re looking for ambitious players who want to come and prove themselves against the best teams in the region. Last season was a learning curve as we adapted to the new level but in the second half of the season we became a competitive side beating Liverpool Marshall Feds and Liverpool City Ladies away as well as being the only side to beat Merseyrail Bootle all season.”
“This season we want to make the most of our new facility and really push on into the upper echelons of the league. The backing the Women’s team has already received from the club as well as sponsors such as Piccadilly Records and Chorlton Reds shows the potential for us to achieve. This is a great chance for any players who want to improve their game and get involved with a really great bunch of people.”
Following the trial players will be invited to enjoy a drink in the clubhouse afterwards, meet the rest of the playing squad and be given a tour of West Women’s new facilities.
Anyone wishing to attend or wanting more information can contact the club via email robmckay86@gmail.com or phone on 07706320397.
West Didsbury & Chorlton Women’s Team will start their season in September in the Division One South of the North West Women’s Regional League following a merger with Chorltonian Ladies and will play their games at Brookburn Road on Sunday afternoons.
For existing squad members, training will begin on Wednesday 14th June at 6:30pm with an open session on Hough End for two hours before moving to Hardy Farm in July and will continue every week until the move to the clubs autumn training venue.
Sessions will consist of both fitness training and ball work and players are advised to bring both running trainers and boots.
