October Player of the Month: Ben Steer
In a landslide victory, Ben Steer has been voted the October Player of the Month for West Didsbury & Chorlton.
Having struggled for game time at the start of the season, the autumn months have seen Ben become an integral part of Steve Settle’s side – and with Nic Evangelinos having departed from the club, October saw him raise his game even further to become both playmaker and goal threat. With 4 goals over the course of October – second only to the ever-threatening Tom Bailey – Ben also remained in credit as the month petered out for the side. Quickly becoming a fan favourite both for his throwing ability and ability to beat a man, Steer won a remarkable 80% of the vote, beating the likes of Bailey, Ashley & Tinker to the prize. Perhaps his only regret for the month was an inability to get on the scoresheet in what was otherwise a fine performance in the South Manchester Derby.
