Match postponed: West vs AFC Liverpool
As announced on social media, West vs AFC Liverpool has been postponed.
Given the recent spate of postponements due to weather, the club is obviously saddened that tonight’s fixture was not able to go ahead. Unfortunately, the generator which powers our floodlights was unable to turn on, despite the best efforts of all those at the club. This could not have been foreseen by anyone at the club, and all of our usual procedures and precautions were followed in the run up to the game – but, having started at 6pm, an 8pm deadline for progress came and went without much sign of success. Once again, all at West Didsbury & Chorlton would like to apologise to those at AFC Liverpool who made the journey, as well as any West fan or neutral who has had their night disrupted as a result of this postponement. We appreciate that clubs the sacrifices that everyone involved with football at our level make, and events such as those that unfolded tonight make things more difficult for all involved. If you were among those who paid in to the game, please contact us and the club will do its best to make sure to make amends.
The club will be investigating the cause of the failure, and making steps to ensure that whatever the cause of it does not happen again. News of the rearranged fixture will be announced shortly, and we look forward to welcoming AFC Liverpool and all supporters back to Brookburn Road again in the very near future. Any further information on the floodlights, or the fixture, will be announced on our website and social media channels.
