West Women Reserves | Promoted to Tier 6
Share
We are elated to announce that our application for our Women's Reserves team to be promoted has been accepted by the FA Women's Football Pyramid Committee and Joint Liaison Committee.
The new-look Reserves side, led by James Topham and Paul McKenna, sealed a 3rd placed finish in the 2025/26 Greater Manchester Women's Football League Premier Division.
With clubs higher up the pyramid folding, receiving reprieves and moving laterally, a place has opened up in the North West Women’s Regional League Division 1 South.
This means our two senior Women's teams will both be competing in the 2026/27 North West Women's Regional Football League - with the First Team established in the Premier - which allows us to take a more integrated approach to individual and squad development.
This is by virtue of the dual-registration process - necessary when the two sides were affiliated to different leagues - no longer applying.
Players being able to move freely between teams if returning from injury or needing to gain experience further improves West's pathway and will give more players opportunity to play at elite regional level.
We're currently recruiting for both our Women's senior teams, with trials taking place on June 10th, 14th and 17th. Players can register their interest via the @wdc_women social media feeds or contact secretary Ben Warner on wdc.womens@gmail.com.
