#AnnounceJim: Barca Jim to take over role as matchday announcer

Tonight’s game will see the debut of one of West’s most versatile weapons in a new role, as Barca Jim takes over the reins as our official match day announcer.

The position has become available as Pete Lewis, our previous announcer, was unable to carry on in the role due to other commitments. All at the club would like to thank Pete for the excellent work he has done on the mic over the past 12 months or so, and we look forward to welcoming him down to Brookburn Road again as a fan whenever time allows.

Having made his name as a Twitter celebrity before moving up to being a West TV presenter, Jim was only too happy to be handed the microphone for pre- and post-game announcements – which we’re sure will be done in his own inimitable style.

Speaking on the announcement, Jim said, “I’m honoured to have been asked to take over match announcer duties a d firstly would thank Peter for his contribution. Hopefully I can bring a different “quality” to the role to add something to the West matchday experience with absolutely NO profanity, even when I see Beef’s name on the team sheet”

We’re sure fans of the club look forward to seeing what Jim brings to the position, and would like to thank him for putting himself forward for the role.
