A message from Glyn Meacher – West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC

A message from Glyn Meacher

Having stepped down as chairman, Glyn Meacher has the following message for those involved in any capacity with West

Following my stepping down from the role of Chair of the club and the appointment of Rob and Steve as co-chairs, I want to put on record my thanks to everyone who has supported me in my seven years as Chairman.

The redevelopment of Brookburn Road; opening of Hardy Farm; merger with Oswald Road to create our Junior section, seeing the Women’s teams develop and the increase in our fan base are all things we can all be rightly proud off. Obviously, the fact that the first team start back at the same level as when I took over is a disappointment, but one I am sure that Brad and his team will seek to address asap.

However, whilst all of the above is important what has given me the greatest satisfaction is in seeing us becoming a true community club, which has at its heart the offer of football for all and in our own unique way the tackling of social injustice.

I now look forward to continuing my 30 years plus involvement with the club through taking a key role in turning our plans for re-development of Brookburn Road into reality and helping out in anyway I can.

I would also like to wish Steve and Rob, all the success in their new roles and sincerely hope they get as much enjoyment and pleasure from being Chair of our club as I have over the last few years.

– Glyn Meacher

Once again, all at the club would like to thank Glyn for his tireless efforts over the past seven years – and we look forward to helping support his vital work as a committee member.
