Match postponed: West vs Hanley Town – West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC

Match postponed: West vs Hanley Town

Following adverse weather conditions through the night, today’s fixture versus Hanley Town has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. Despite the best efforts of our excellent ground staff, the low temperatures have made the pitch unplayable.

Obviously, this news is far from ideal given the events that were planned around today’s fixtures, including donations to Reach Out To The Community, beer from The Beagle, and our carol singers The A Cappella Ultras. If you have picked up donations for Reach Out To The Community, you are able to drop them off at Elliott’s Fruit and Veg shop in Chorlton precinct (also known as Chorlton Place), postcode: M21 9AQ. If you take a photo of yourself making a donation and email it to join@wdcfcfan.club, the West Supporters’ Club will make sure to get you a drink at the next home fixture. Alternatively, we will be accepting donations at a future home game – when we will revive our link up with The Beagle. Details on this fixture will be announced in the near future.

We’d also like to thank Rich and Tom Stewart – aka The A Capella Ultras – for their incredible work and support for this game. One of the great shames is that Brookburn Road will be robbed of their West-centric Christmas Carols at half time today: but we’re sure that those songs will be repurposed for the terraces anyway.

Details of the re-arranged Hanley Town fixture will be announced in due course.

Once again, our apologies – and thank you for your understanding.
