West will face Wythenshawe Town for the first time since 2011 as the club can reveal its third confirmed pre-season friendly on Saturday 21st July, 3pm KO.

Wythenshawe Town are one of the 15 newly promoted sides in the NWCFL Division One South this season having earned three promotions on the bounce having restarted in Cheshire League Two in 2015.

It will be West’s first visit to Timpson Road since October 9th 2010 when West ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Paul Lewis, Lee Hendley and Danny Summers.  The two sides met at Brookburn Road on April 16th 2011 as West won by the same score-line on their way to collecting the Manchester League First Division title.

Whilst West have won three of the last four competitive meetings in the Manchester League Wythenshawe Town have the better record overall having won four of the ten meetings to West’s three with the other three meetings ending in a draw.

Most recently Wythenshawe secured four victories against our reserve side in 15/16 when the then Cheshire League Two outfit made history by winning every single fixture in that season.
