West edged a competitive encounter at Wythenshawe Town to claim a third consecutive friendly win.

Ben Steer opened the scoring on 12 minutes when he turned home a trialist’s right-wing cross, then claimed an assist shortly before the break when his corner found the net via a Town defender.

The home side halved the deficit in the second half after Gavin Salmon spectacularly fired in a free-kick off the crossbar, but there were no further goals as Steve Settle’s side continued to tune up ahead of the new season.
