Tuesday 1st May 2018 (7.45pm), NWCFL Premier Division
West v City of Liverpool
Kensite Stadium, Atherton, M46 9EY

West begin a run of four ‘home’ games to close out the season with the visit of City of Liverpool – hosted at Atherton Collieries’ Kensite Stadium.
Steve Settle’s side head to their temporary base on the back of Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Widnes, but continue to target a top-half finish. They will need to keep winning to achieve this goal, with 12th-placed Ashton Athletic sitting two points behind with games in hand.
The Purps’ weekend defeat at Hanley Town ended a 14-match unbeaten run – a streak that appears to have arrived too late to trouble the promotion places, but a top four finish is within their grasp. Simon Burton’s team racked up their 100th league goal in their win over Abbey Hey on 26th April, a tally boosted by 8-0 wins against relegated Barnton and AFC Darwen in recent weeks as well as the 6-1 win over West in January.
By the numbers
- West have won one and lost two of their NWCFL matches at the Kensite Stadium – the win coming in an April 2013 First Division fixture.
